Sunday Drive

The thought of her being a young girl made me feel connected to her in a way my adolescent existence could relate to on a different level than the tall, beautiful and strong woman I knew her to be. Dressed for church and a Sunday drive in Memphis. After it was quilted I made sure to add the pearl earrings, the lace collars and my mother’s bow. Even added the lace on their socks and iridescent fabric for their patent leather shoes. It was an honor to do this piece.
